Dodgers Announce Participants for 2019 Alumni Game

Every year, former Los Angeles Dodger players come to Dodger Stadium and participate in the Alumni Game.

The team announced the participants of this year’s game, which is highlighted by a new face in former first baseman James Loney. The former Dodgers’ first-rounder last played in the big leagues in 2016 with the New York Mets.

Here’s a list of all those expected to play via Dodgers PR:

• Shawn Green
• Kevin Gross
• Jerry Hairston, Jr.
• Orel Hershiser
• Lee Lacy
• Kenny Landreaux
• Dennis Powell
• Nick Punto
• Dave Roberts
• Jerry Royster
• Steve Sax
• Derrel Thomas
• Ismael Valdez
• Jose Vizcaino.

There will also be appearances by Billy Ashley, Ron Cey, Tommy Davis, Steve Garvey, Rick Honeycutt, Tommy Lasorda, Davey Lopes, Rick Monday, Manny Mota, Bill Russell, Fernando Valenzuela, Maury Wills and Steve Yeager.

The game is set for June 1 ahead of the Dodgers game with the Philadelphia Phillies. Batting practice is scheduled for 4PM with the game beginning at 5PM. Steve Garvey will be inducted into the ‘Legends of Dodger Baseball’ that night, which is also his bobblehead night.
