Last night we found out that David Freese was unavailable for even pinch hitting duty. He has slashed .308/.407/.592 on the season with 8 home runs and 23 RBI. His 10-day IL stint is retroactive to June 21.
This will be the second stay in Los Angeles for Will Smith, who batted .286 with 2 HR and 3 RBI in his first 6 game stint. Since being optioned to OKC, Smith has beat up on Pacific Coast League pitching by hitting 6 home runs — including one in 5 consecutive games — and posting a .293 average with a 1.180 OPS
