Everyone’s favorite “Stepdad” David Freese’s hamstring has not healed as the Dodgers were hoping.
#Dodgers mgr Dave Roberts said David Freese's injured hamstring is "not responding like we'd hoped" but still optimistic Freese could return before the All-Star break

With Dave Roberts providing positive updates on when other injured players may be making their return to the lineup, the slow healing hamstring of Freese puts a damper on an otherwise positive day.
Testing The Dodgers Incredible Depth
David Freese had been hitting the cover off the ball before his injury. This feels like a bigger blow than it probably is, though. Matt Beaty, Max Muncy, and now even Joc Pederson have filled in at 1st base, and all three of those players have contributed offensively. Look for this to continue to be the case.
Where The Iceman Is Most Missed
Max Muncy, Matt Beaty, and Joc Pederson also have something in common. They’re all left handed. While Max Muncy handles left handed pitching very well, Joc definitely does not. Beaty is fairly untested against left handed pitching. David Freese’s presence will be most missed when a southpaw is facing the Dodgers.
