The Dodgers and their league-best record will indeed be represented in the All-Star game’s starting lineup. It was announced on Thursday that Cody Bellinger will be manning right field for the National League in Cleveland on July 9th.

For most casual baseball fans, this nod comes as no surprise. Bellinger has been destroying starting pitching all season, crushing a ridiculous 26 home runs in just 78 games. Bellinger is on pace to hit over 50 home runs and drive in more than 130 runs in the process. He is slashing .354/.452/.711 and his ops+ of 199 is by far the best mark of his career.
It’s no wonder everyone wants to hug the man. Dave Roberts will be managing the NL squad, and he’s pretty excited about the guys he’s got on his side.

Bellinger joins Ronald Acuna Jr of the Braves and Christian Yelich of the Brewers in the outfield representing the starters. Matt Kemp represented the Dodgers in 2018, starting in left field.
