Dodgers News: David Freese Close to Rehab or Activation

According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, David Freese has been running the bases which typically entails an upcoming rehab assignment or imminent activation.

Freese has been on the IL since June 23 with a hamstring injury.

Taking a personal guess, I would assume that Freese would be a prime candidate for activation after the All-Star Break to give the veteran some much-needed rest to keep him fresh.

Freese has been phenomenal this season, posting a 162 wRC+ in 56 games while putting together a cool .999 OPS. He has been elite against both lefties and righties this season, with a 135 wRC+ and 202 wRC+ against them, respectively. 202 wRC+ against righties as a right-handed bat will certainly play.

The offense could find use for David Freese as we head into the second half.
