Dodgers’ third baseman Justin Turner was unavailable to play during Tuesday night’s 5-4 walk-off win over the division rival Arizona Diamondbacks, according to Manager Dave Roberts.
Turner is dealing with a sore elbow after getting hit by a pitch on Sunday in Colorado. He underwent an x-ray on his elbow and wrist that came back negative, according to Alanna Rizzo.
Before the game, Roberts said Turner would be available to pinch-hit. During the game, he didn’t make an appearance and after the game, Roberts changed his answer to say Turner was not available.
Roberts, who said before the game that Turner was available to pinch-hit, said after the game that Turner was unavailable because of elbow soreness.

It’s unlikely Turner would need to go on the injured-list unless his elbow doesn’t improve or gets worse.
It is important that he is healthy down the stretch and into October as he is having another strong season, posting a .301/.386/.452 line with 9 home runs and a 126 wRC+ in 316 plate appearances.
