Pollock has been working his way back from an elbow infection and operation for months and this is a true step in the right direction.
His return will have some major implications on the Dodgers’ roster in conjunction with the returns of Corey Seager and David Freese, as well. Pollock, who was signed in the off-season to be the Dodgers’ starting center fielder has had that spot taken by rookie sensation Alex Verdugo, so it should be interesting to see exactly what impact his return has. Of course, Joc Pederson has been playing at first base in preparation for Pollock’s return.
Expect a return sometime directly after the All-Star Break. Pollock was severely struggling before his injury, posting a 64 wRC+ in 29 games.
