Dodgers Video: Earthquake Rattles Telecast During Game

If you’re like me – you were watching the Dodgers game on Friday night – and you believed the cameraman had a folly. However, that was not the case.

In this case, it was an earthquake. To be exact, a 6.9 earthquake that rattled Dodger Stadium for a solid minute. The natural disaster occurred during 8:21 PM local time, or in the fourth inning of the game with Kiké Hernandez at the plate.

While I have not been alive as long as many of you who have been watching Dodger baseball since Chavez Ravine looked differently, this was the first time I remember any type of earthquake during an actual game.

Dodgers’ broadcaster Orel Hershiser added a little humor to the telecast by quoting song lyrics. Moreover, it followed Dieter Ruehle playing a James Taylor song on the organ.

“I feel the earth move under my feet.”
