The Dodgers activated catcher Will Smith off the 10-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City. He played for OKC tonight and went 1-for-1 with an RBI.

The move was somewhat confusing as Smith was originally optioned to OKC on June 26, but also sneakily added to the MLB 10-day IL. His transactions page is a bit all over the place.

Nevertheless, Smith made his return to playing baseball for the Dodgers in Oklahoma City on Saturday night and collected a hit and an RBI in 3 plate appearances. He also added a HBP and sacrifice play to his ledger.
The 24 year old was nursing an oblique injury he sustained in his final game with Dodgers on June 25th when he went 0-3 against the Diamondbacks.
Smith is batting .269 with 3 home runs and 6 RBI in 9 games with the big club, and .294 with 14 home runs and 40 RBI in triple-A this season.
