Despite a three-game skid against the San Diego Padres at the end of last week, the Los Angeles Dodgers remain in the top spot in the first MLB power rankings released after the All-Star Break.

The Houston Astros and New York Yankees trail the Dodgers at second and third respectively in this week’s rankings while the next NL team comes in at fourth in the Atlanta Braves.
The Boys in Blue, who went into the break with the best record in the MLB at 60-32, will look to build upon a commanding NL West lead and will start the second half of the season with a tough three-game series at Fenway.
The team is in store for some additional help, though, which is likely one of the biggest factors in keeping them at the top of this week’s ranking.
AJ Pollock, Corey Seager, and David Freese are all set to be back with the team come Friday with the latter two having already been added to the active roster.
The Dodgers today activated IF Corey Seager from the 10-day injured list and optioned OF Matt Beaty to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

All three will look to provide a much-needed boost to the team as they look to snap one of the rare losing streaks this season has seen.
Before heading to the IL, Seager seemed to be finding his swing in just 10 games in the month of June. He raised his batting average from .245 to .278 and brought in nine RBI in that span.
Freese this season is batting .308 with a .999 OPS in 56 games this season.
AJ Pollock, who’s been out for the longest amongst this group, will hope to add another productive bat to what has been an impressive outfield crew with the likes of Cody Bellinger, Alex Verdugo, and Joc Pederson.
With such reinforcements coming in, the Dodgers look set to hold on to that top spot in the power rankings for weeks to come.
