Out of Clovis High School in Clovis, California Chet wasn’t a big name prospect prior to his senior year. He decided to stay close to home and play at Fresno City College, less than 25 minutes from his home town of Clovis.
His first and only year at Fresno City College was something to really appreciate. Top Division 1 college programs jumped at the opportunity to offer Chet to play at their school. Arkansas and head coach Dave Van Horn gave Allison an opportunity he just couldn’t resist, at least for now. The JUCO standout signed with the Razorbacks in late April.

Chet Allison signed for $222.5K Friday morning, which was nearly $100k above his slot pick value. The Dodgers really lucked out with this pick, considering Allison could have been a top 3 or 4 round pick if he plays a year or two at Arkansas.
In his one year at Fresno City College, Chet Allison hit .446, with 11 HR’s, 50 RBI’s, and 17 SB in his 45 games played.
