We have an update on Rich Hill and it’s a good one. Dick Mountain will play catch for the first time since going on the IL in mid-June with a flexor tendon injury.
Big day for #Dodgers Rich Hill Thursday — he gets to play catch. 4 weeks after going on IL with flexor tendon injury in his left elbow Hill has been cleared to start a throwing program. Not expected back until Sept

Rich Hill is a guy that loves to play catch, so Thursday will no doubt be a very exciting day for him.
He has been on the IL for a month now and prior to going down, he had thrown 53 innings with a 2.55 ERA. The fact that he is expected to return in September is a good thing and he very well could strengthen the bullpen with his return with Ross Stripling or Kenta Maeda potentially being sent out there.
Hill is in the final season of his three-year deal and some expect a possible retirement at the end of the season and Dick Mountain checks in at 39 years young.
This is a fantastic update as it was initially feared that Hill could miss the rest of the season, or at least the regular season.
