The Dodgers are reportedly showing continued interest in right-handed reliever Shane Greene of the Detroit Tigers. Anthony Fenech of Detroit Free Press was the first to report the interest a couple weeks back, but Jon Morosi of MLB Network is reiterating that there is current and continued mutual interest.

The Dodgers have been linked to Greene for awhile now and this very well could be the off-season in which they acquire him. Greene would likely slot into the eighth inning for the Dodgers to act as the bridge to Kenley Jansen.
Greene, 30, is not a free agent until 2021, so the Dodgers would have control over him for the remainder of the 2019 season and next year as well.
The right-hander has posted a sterling 1.06 ERA this season in 34 innings of work, but the peripherals don’t view him as highly: 3.49 DRA, 3.65 FIP, and 3.62 SIERA. Regardless, Greene is a viable option and would be an obvious upgrade over the pitchers who rest on the fringe of the roster.
