Just a few weeks after being moved to Triple-A ball, Dodgers’ prospect Gavin Lux is already drawing attention. The second-ranked prospect in Los Angeles’ farm system took home player of the week honors in the Pacific Coast League after a phenomenal offensive outburst.

Lux has garnered plenty of attention the past few weeks since making the move to Oklahoma City. In 18 games with the OKC Dodgers, Lux is slashing a ridiculous .487/.552/.961. He has also crushed seven home runs and driven in 23 runs in the process.
The recent run by Lux at the highest level of the minor leagues has fans wondering when he will be joining the big league club. Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts acknowledged that Lux, along with a few other big bats at the minor league level, are “making our jobs more difficult and intriguing” with the big league club.
Lux has flown through the system as a shortstop, but experts do not see him there long term. Without a strong throwing arm, scouts envision Lux playing second base. Luckily, second is a position the Dodgers are in dire need of filling for the foreseeable future.
