Dodgers News: Enrique Hernandez Leaves Game with Apparent Hand/Wrist Injury

Kiké Hernandez left Wednesday’s game against the Angels after appearing to injure his hand on a swing. The at-bat resulted in a pop up and he was replaced on defense in the next inning.

Hernandez is the only shortstop on the roster behind Corey Seager and if he were to be placed on the Injured List for some time, top prospect Gavin Lux could receive a call up.

Kiké appeared to be in some serious pain, but the trainers came out to look at him and he seemed to tell them he was fine. He still left the game in the following inning.

Hernandez is in the midst of a disappointing season, posting a 96 wRC+. He has still been solid on defense this season, accumulating six defensive runs saved across multiple positions.
