Dodgers News: Hyun-Jin Ryu Placed on 10-Day Injured List

The Dodgers have placed Hyun-Jin Ryu on the 10-Day IL with neck soreness. The move to the IL is retroactive to August 1st.

Ryu, 32, is having his strongest season in Major League Baseball, to date. He currently has an 11-2 record with a 1.53 ERA. Ryu also has 117 strikeouts on the season and is coming off one of the best months of his career. In July, he was 2-0 in 5 starts, with a 0.55 ERA and 23 strikeouts.

The Korean Monster was the NL Starter for the All-Star Game and is among league leaders in ERA (1st), winning percentage (2nd, .846), and strikeouts-to-walk ratio (2nd, 7.31).

This will be Ryu’s second trip to the IL this season. He missed time in April for a left groin strain. He missed significant time in 2018 after he tore his groin muscle away from the bone.

Ryu was awarded National League Pitcher of the Month in the month of May after going 5-0 with a 0.59 ERA and 26 strikeouts.
