Dodgers: Max Muncy Speaks About Bounce Back Win Against Diamondbacks

After a tough loss last night in extra innings, the Dodgers were able to bounce back tonight and win 4-0, against the Arizona Diamondbacks, at Dodger Stadium.

They did most of the damage early in the game, with Max Muncy opening the scoring with a statement home run to center field in the second inning. They scored 4 runs through the first 4 innings tonight while shutting out the Diamondbacks, led by Kenta Maeda, who had something of a statement game of his own. Maeda tossed 7 innings pitched, allowing only 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, and 6 Ks. Moreover, he picked up his first victory since May 31.

Following the win, Max Muncy spoke with Dodgers reporter, Alanna Rizzo.

Max Muncy on his home-run:

“Well, it was kind of the pitch I was looking for. I remember the last time I faced him, a cutter, even though it’s only a couple miles an hour difference, it felt a lot slower, it kind of felt like a parachute, so I was looking for it, he left it up in the zone, it was a very good pitch to hit, and I got the barrel to it.”

Max Muncy on how much of this win was a statement from last night’s altercation:

“I think the biggest thing was just going out there, and acting like nothing happened, because it’s not a big deal. Whatever happened last night, was last night, it’s over. Coming out tonight, play hard, and that’s what we did, show up tomorrow, and play hard tomorrow.”

With the win, Los Angeles picked up their 78th win of the season and will look to pick up the series win over the D-backs on Sunday afternoon as Hyun-Jin Ryu makes his return from the injured list.
