After spending some time on the injured list due to neck soreness, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu has been activated and will start on Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Dodgers have activated LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu from the 10-day injured list and optioned RHP Casey Sadler to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

As part of the move, the team optioned relief pitcher Casey Sadler to Oklahoma City.
Sadler Impressive During Time With the Team
Since being acquired by the Dodgers in early July, Sadler has been better than many fans might have expected.
Casey Sadler has allowed just one earned run in 12 1/3 innings for the Dodgers. He was optioned to make room for Hyun-Jin Ryu.

He has posted an ERA of 0.73 with the Dodgers in 9 games, and a 1.42 ERA overall in 2019.
However, with an abundance of right-handed arms already operating in the bullpen, the move to option Sadler does make sense.
Ryu Hopes to Continue Dominant Season
Dodgers fans will be happy to see Ryu back in action as he continues what has been nothing short of a Cy Young caliber season.
In his last start, Ryu allowed only 3 hits and no earned runs in six innings of work against the Colorado Rockies. He lowered his NL-leading ERA from 1.60 to 1.53 in 21 starts and 135.2 innings pitched.
As the end of the season nears and the Dodgers gear up for the postseason, the team will need this year’s ace healthy if they are to finally snap that World Series drought.
