Will Smith, believe it, or not, has hit his 12th HR in just 28 games. He is now tied with Philadelphia Phillies first baseman, Rhys Hoskins, for most HR through his first 28 career games. Smith passed his teammate, Cody Bellinger in HR’s and RBI’s through the first 23 games of his career, last week, as well.

Will Smith hit a solo HR in the 4th inning against the Toronto Blue Jays, which gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. For the Dodgers, Will Smith is like a gift that keeps on giving. Through the first 28 games of his career, not only does Smith have 12 HR, he has 28 H, 31 RBI, and 10 BB. As well as a batting average of .327.
Smith has had an incredible season, thus far. Whether it’s with the bases loaded, a batter on 3rd, with 2 outs, finding a way to deliver runs, trailing heading into the 9th, and making something happen, out of nothing. Smith has done it all. As a catcher, reading the opposing teams runner on base, and throwing batters out who try to steal a base, which saves a run(s), and that helps out the pitcher on the mound, as well. Smith is an all-around player, and at just 24 years old, the Dodgers have found another one of their franchise players.
