Julio Urias will be returning in early September from a 20-game domestic violence suspension. The plan is for Urias to return September 3rd, and that will give him a little over 3 weeks to get back into rythym for the postseason. Urias remains an option for Dave Roberts as the fourth starting pitcher, come October.

Moreover, Roberts will have a couple of options to work with, as far as the fourth pitcher to start in the postseason goes. Along with Urias, Rich Hill is making his return from injury some time early in September as well. Plus Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin will have looks at that fourth starter spot.
For Urias, however, there also remains the opportunity that he will return to the multi-inning relief role where he has dominated for most of the season. Before his suspension, Urias had a 4-3 record, with an ERA of 2.53. In June, we saw Urias come in as a relief pitcher, and dominate with a 0.95 ERA.
It could be likely that he will get some time starting to build up his innings count as the front office looks towards the 2020 campaign. The plan and expectation is that Julio will be in the rotation next season.
In whatever role he find, he will be a great option to have in the postseason.
