The Dodgers have selected the contract of top prospect Gavin Lux to make his major league debut on Monday and have reinstated left-handed pitcher Julio Urías from the restricted list following his suspension.
The club also announced that they have recalled right-handed reliever Josh Sborz from Triple-A Oklahoma City and have transferred first baseman Tyler White to the 60-day injured list to make room for Gavin Lux on the 40-man roster.

Lux, ranked as the 10th-best prospect in the sport by Fangraphs’ Eric Longenhagen and Kiley McDaniel, will make his major league debut on Monday against the Colorado Rockies and will start at second base. Across 49 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Lux slashed .392/.478/.719 with a 188 wRC+ and 13 home runs.
Urías, who was suspended an additional 15 games for a domestic violence incident, has been reinstated and his role has yet to be determined. There have rumors that he could return as a starting pitcher, but he could also reassume his role as a high-leverage reliever. Urías holds a 2.53 ERA on the year across 67 2/3 innings and 27 appearances (six starts).
Sborz has been up and down with the Dodgers, but with the roster expansion, he should see some mop up innings to keep the bullpen rested. He has thrown just three innings for the Dodgers and has allowed six earned runs.
White, who Dodgers manager Dave Roberts claimed to be out for the year, has been made the corresponding roster move to create space for Gavin Lux’s promotion. White struggled all season, mustering just a 71 wRC+ across 83 combined games with the Houston Astros and the Dodgers, compared to an elite 144 wRC+ with the Astros in 2018.
