Sunday night, Dodger fans were very frustrated with A.J. Pollock as he continued to struggle mightily in the NLDS. His struggles have unfortunately become record-breaking.
A.J. Pollock has now tied a Dodgers franchise record for strikeouts in the NLDS with nine. It is the sixth inning of Game 3.

Bad Enough To Get El Bencho
It appears A.J Pollock’s struggles have not gone unnoticed. Lineups for game 4 have been announced, and Pollock is getting the night off.

During the 2019 NLDS, A.J. Pollock as gone 0 for 11 with 9 strikeouts, and one walk. He has looked completely lost at the plate. At times, it also appears he isn’t even seeing the ball at all. Dave Roberts knows this can’t be allowed to continue. With Max Scherzer starting game 4, it makes it easy to bring lefty Matt Beaty for his first postseason start.
While we’re not major league hitters here, you could imagine that Scherzer is hardly the guy you want to face to break out of a slump.
The Other Side of Slumps
While it is easy to get aggravated at A.J. Pollock’s lack of production, it should be easy to also recognize that slumps happen. More than likely, there are big hits to come from the Dodgers off-season acquisition. During the playoffs however, if you’re not producing, you’re going to ride the pine. The Dodgers look to closeout the Nationals in game 4, and hope for better production from A.J Pollock in the NLCS.
