Former Dodger Outfielder Signs Free Agent Deal With Mariners

Although all the big name free-agents have been off the market for quite some time now, there are/ were still a lot more players in search of their new home for the 2023 season.

That of which includes former Dodger: AJ Pollock. After a few months as a free agent, he will find himself in Seattle for the upcoming season.

Our very own, Doug McKain had a few things to say about the recent news too:

As Doug has proved, we love to see our former Dodgers succeed beyond their time just spent in Dodger blue. Pollock is a seasoned veteran with 11 years in the MLB under his belt.

He spent the first seven years of his major league career with the Diamondbacks before heading to the West Coast to play for the Dodgers from 2018 through the 2021 season. Polluck was a part of that 2020 World Series winning team playing centerfielder for LA before spending his most recent season with the White Sox.

Now, the one-time All-Star will travel to the Pacific Northwest to squeeze out a little more juice before his time in the MLB starts to come to a close.

Last season he posted a .245 AVG with 14 homers and 56 RBI and like Jeff’s tweet mentioned, he will be joining a newly star-studded cast of Kolten Wong, Julio Rodriguez, and Ty France.

The Mariners made a surprising run this 2022 season by clinching their first playoff berth since 2001 which ended the longest major professional sports postseason drought in North America. However, we all know how their story ended as they eventually lost to Houston in a three game sweep in the division series.

But it seems like the team is on the right track and maybe with the addition of Pollock the team can repeat some of the same success they had last year.
